The Dessert Fork is a one-handed melee weapon in Rule of Rose. As its name suggests, this is a simple dining utensil that would normally be found alongside other dining utensils at a dining table. It is meant to be used with consuming desserts.

Background[]

The Dessert Fork is the first weapon that Jennifer obtains during her stay on the Airship in "The Unlucky Cloverfield" chapter. After finding Olivia mourning the death of a Green Butterfly in the Guest Room Hall on the Upper Deck, Jennifer was then given the choice of obtaining the dead Green Butterfly and delivering it to the Gift Box. But before Jennifer could take it, Olivia stabs it with the Dessert Fork, startling her. Olivia walks away from Jennifer, saying:

"You deserve to be gobbled up."

With Olivia gone, Jennifer acquires the Dessert Fork along with the Green Butterfly. It becomes an early weapon that Jennifer uses to defend herself against the first Imp, an unarmed Horrible Imp, she encounters inside the Sector 8 Cargo Bay until she could obtain more powerful weapons during her subsequent explorations of the Airship with Brown.

Characteristics[]

The Dessert Fork is arguably the weakest weapon that the player could use while fighting Imps. As a one-handed weapon, Jennifer's ability to damage Imps will be limited, leaving her more vulnerable to groups of Imps if she stays in one place. Even so, the weapon is better than nothing as Jennifer no means of defending herself against even a single Imp if left unarmed. The player should immediately replace this weapon with the Paring Knife as soon as it becomes available later in "The Unlucky Cloverfield," followed by the Steel Pipe in "Sir Peter."
