The Steel Pipe is a two-handed melee weapon in Rule of Rose. It is a long piece of steel piping pulled from an unknown part of the Airship that Jennifer could repurpose into an improvised club, whose usefulness becomes self-evident in the boss battle of the "Sir Peter" chapter.
Background[]
This long piece of steel piping was left on the ground inside the Middle Class Luggage room of the Sector 8 Cargo Bay. Jennifer and Brown may encounter it while searching for Sir Peter during the chapter of the same name. Having encountered swarms of Imps previously in "The Unlucky Cloverfield," Jennifer might have obtained it in search of weapons more effective than the Dessert Fork and Paring Knife she fought in the preceding chapter.
Characteristics[]
The Steel Pipe should be the first two-handed melee weapon that the player can obtain in a regular playthrough. It is better than the Dessert Fork and Paring Knife in terms of its overall ability to attack multiple Imps at once. Since Rule of Rose has no shotguns or any other viable crowd control weaponry, two-handed melee weapons such as the Steel Pipe are perfect for when speed is not a necessity for fighting Imps. However, the Steel Pipe is to two-handed melee weapons, what the Dessert Fork is to one-handed melee weapons. But unlike the Dessert Fork, the Steel Pipe will not be outclassed in "Bird of Happiness," "The Goat Sisters," and "The Mermaid Princess." The next higher two-handed melee weapons, the Shovel and Sledgehammer, do not make their appearances until the "Gingerbread House" and "Rag Princess Sews" chapters respectively.
