The Kitchen Knife is a one-handed melee weapon in Rule of Rose. It is a knife used for cutting ingredients as part of meal preparations. The Kitchen Knife's location in the "Sir Peter" chapter is not unusual as Sector 10 Cabin is connected to the Kitchen in Sector 11 Maintenance Passage on the starboard side.

Background

While searching for Sir Peter, a white rabbit that the "Sir Peter" chapter is named after, Jennifer and Brown will encounter a Kitchen Knife that somebody had left on the table of the Sector 10 Crew Cabin in the Lower Deck. The Kitchen Knife can be acquired early on in the Knife, becoming the best one-handed melee weapon until Jennifer replaces it with the Icepick in "The Goat Sisters" or the Meat Cleaver in "The Mermaid Princess."

Characteristics

The Kitchen Knife, as a one-handed melee weapon, is superior to the Dessert Fork and Paring Knife, both of which can be obtained during "The Unlucky Cloverfield." Despite its increased damage capability, the player should resist the temptation to remain in one place while fighting groups of Imps. Always reposition Jennifer while fighting to inflict damage on the Imps in front of her. Since the Steel Pipe is nowhere as powerful as other two-handed melee weapons, the Kitchen Knife should suffice as a way of inflicting rapid stabs at individual Imps.

Trivia

• Similar to the Paring Knife, the Kitchen Knife also has blood on its blade. However, unlike the dried blood on the Paring Knife, the blood on the Kitchen Knife is redder, indicating that the blood had been spilt recently.
• It is unknown whose blood is on the Kitchen Knife prior to Jennifer acquiring it in "Sir Peter."
